4 out of 5 stars Full Bluray-3D on the PN50B450 !   July 21, 2010
Patrick 3D
In 2009 Samsung began selling the PN50B450 as a 3D-Ready hdtv but to watch 3d content you had to use your computer and software from either "Stereoscopic Player" or "Tridef". Of course, all that was available to view were old non-bluray field sequential-3d dvds. Then came full bluray-3d and the PN50B450 was said to be obsolete, not so! While it's true that no stand-alone 3d-bluray player is compatible with the PN50B450, and while it's true that Mitsubishi's 3DC-1000 adapter is not compatible with the PN50B450 too, it is not true you cannot watch full bluray-3d discs in checkerboard format. The solution is to use your computer and run Cyberlink's "PowerDVD-10 Ultra 3D" software. This Bluray Association approved software plays back full bluray-3d discs in checkerboard beautifully. I use my computer and a Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, along with Cyberlink's software and watch bluray-3d in checkerboard. I use the active shutter glasses I received in 2009 when I bought Tridef's "3D-Experience" software. Using this set up I just watched the full 3D-Bluray disc "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" in glorious 3d-Bluray (checkerboard).

5 out of 5 stars Great TV   January 13, 2010

What can I say except in its price range, this has to be about the best TV I have ever had. Easy to tune in - you just plug it in and press a button and it does it all for you. Colour quality is good, picture quality is very good, HD BluRay is excellent. Sound quality from the TV on its own is really good. The set itself is very stylish.
X Box 360 games according to my son, take it into another dimension - "astounding gaming experience" It is a superb TV and one of the best if not the best in its price range. It is like watching a cinema. I can highly recommend this.

5 out of 5 stars Gorgeous blue ray cinema   January 10, 2010

Arrived yesterday, easy to set up, even on my own, with good solid stand. Watched first blue ray disk on it last night - Blood Diamonds, and it was terrific! I reckon that even in a moderate room, the bigger the screen, the closer to a cinema experience. The crisp quality of the HD through this screen made for a fantastic experience. Of course TV does not keep up due to the source quality, but still very good colours, sound, and easier to use than other TVs I have had.
